Our Purpose
In 1996, Bermuda's insurance industry leaders established BFIS to assist Bermudian students with the education and training necessary for a career in the insurance industry.

This is being achieved through:

• Annual SCHOLARSHIPS which have increased in number, scope and dollar amounts over the years to match increased tuition costs and the growth of the industry. Applications are now closed for 2010.
  
• MENTOR NETWORKING programme matching young Bermudians, planning or starting a career in insurance, with people already established in the industry.
  
• SUMMER INTERN programmes to broaden student's knowledge of the insurance industry through structured internships in Bermuda, Chicago and London.  
  
• HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS on insurance careers and information of scholarships.  
  
• CAREER GUIDANCE and job search advice.
  
• RESUME posting on the BFIS website for students intent on finding employment in the insurance sector.
